A key story this week is the Government's new initiative to keep children safe when using the internet. ‘Click Clever, Click Safe' is a campaign that encourages children to block and report any inappropriate material. It follows a review by the Government-appointed psychologist, and MiC featured, Tanya Bryant. To read the full story click here In the same week as we hear about two boys presented with awards for not missing a day of school in five years, the Scottish Office have produced a guide to help parents understand their responsibility in ensuring their children attend school. MiC tip of the week... Inspiration - motivation comes from within but it is possible to encourage and support others so that they feel motivated. See if you can identify an aspect of your child's behaviour that you want to encourage and make a conscious effort to praise this behaviour by really showing them how you feel. This can also work with colleagues at work. It's about pointing out the positive rather than the negative, and using positive language with our children and others in order to motivate them to behave or perform well.

thoughts that enter your mind. Create incisive questions that will remove
these assumptions and let your imagination go. Make a note of all the
possibilities for change in your life and decide which ones to go for.
